80 MWp solar farms commissioned by ib vogt GmbH

Berlin/Cambridge, 15th of April 2014: ib vogt GmbH and its subsidiary vogt solar ltd successfully commissioned six projects with a rated capacity of 80 MWp in the first quarter of 2014 in the United Kingdom. Since 2011, 16 solar farms have been completed by the company, with a capacity of over 130 MWp. The company also has a 400 MWp UK project pipeline including 84 MWp already consented. In addition to its UK activities, ib vogt is expanding internationally with its first concluded Power Purchase Agreement in South East Asia.

All the projects qualify to apply for the 1.6 ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificate) scheme. The total rated capacity of the solar farms is 80 MWp. These projects will produce over 82 GWh per annum of clean, environmentally-friendly electricity, enough to power more than 23,000 homes and save over 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) over their lifetime. The solar farm projects have been purchased by institutional investors. The construction finance was provided in part by ib vogt and in part by the investors. All six projects are located in areas with high sun irradiance as follows:Old Rides in Kent, approximately 8 MWpNewlands Farm/Fareham in Hampshire, approximately 20.5 MWpKnowlton in Kent, approximately 11.5 MWpWestwood in Kent, approximately 9.2 MWpWix Lodge in Essex, approximately 18.7 MWpDerriton Fields in Devon, approximately 11.8 MWp Despite the very challenging and extreme weather conditions during first quarter in the UK all the projects were commissioned on time prior to the 31st March. We would like to thank all our project partners – and especially the Distribution Network Operators WPD, SEE and UKPN – for their support and engagement, which helped us to achieve this excellent result. Since 2011, ib vogt and vogt solar have constructed and financed 16 solar farms in the United Kingdom with a capacity of over 130 MWp. All projects have been built to a very high standard and commissioned on time and budget. In the UK the company carries out operation and maintenance activities for 130 MWp and is invested in 58 MWp of solar farms. “Our solar farms are highly optimized, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and top quality components. The plants are engineered, built and operated by our dedicated, professional teams. The standards we apply consistently result in high over-performance of our solar farms in both electricity generation and technical operating parameters, such as performance ratio and availability,” said Anton Milner, Managing Director of ib vogt GmbH. ib vogt is committed to the long term growth in the international markets and continues to expand its international activities. In the UK the company currently has a project pipeline of more than 400 MWp, of which 84 MWp are already fully consented with construction expected to start in the second quarter of 2014. Outside of Europe the company is also strengthening its international position. The first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in South East Asia has been concluded for the construction of a 6.25 MWp diesel offset project – to date the world’s largest. The construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2014.
